The Great Smoky Mountains are some of the oldest mountains in the world and you'll soon see why this is the most visited national park in America. To make sure you see as much as possible, the first afternoon is spent in the town of Gatlinburg where you can do some moonshine tasting at a distillery, pop into the park to the visitor centre or just stretch your legs with a short walk. The following day you enter the park with a mixture of driving and walking to really maximize your time in the wonderful scenery! Keep your eyes peeled for white-tailed deer, groundhogs and chipmunks, as well as the American Black Bears that call these mountains home.

Learn about the history of country music at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, home to the largest collection of country music in the world, or head to the bars on Broadway to hear live bands. Welcome to a city like no other, New Orleans. Here, booze can be consumed on the streets, voodoo is commonly practiced, it’s against the law to steal someone else’s alligator and the locals move in their own slow southern style. Head into the enchanting French Quarter and hear the real deal at Preservation Hall, before tucking into some classic and delicious Southern cuisine. If you're feeling the signature gumbo and jambalaya dishes, why not take part in an optional New Orleans cookery class so you can really impress the squad back home. At night head to the lively Bourbon Street, where almost anything goes. New Orleans is a place full of life and is an experience you won't forget in a hurry!

Austin is an electric, cultural and artistic city that packs a punch. Live music can be heard almost any night of the week. This evening check out the chaos of Sixth Street or the quirkiness of Rainy Street, littered with bars imitating suburbia as you order drinks in converted houses. Alternatively tuck into some world-class barbeque and rest up for a big weekend of fun, music and laughter at the epic Austin City Limits festival.

The best music weekend of your life – or at least your time in America - has finally arrived. You’ve been training for it over the course of the last 11 days, but the immense ACL festival is about to kick it up a notch. The Glastonbury-esque festival offers an unrivalled line-up year after year with acts such as Camila Cabello, Phoenix, Metallica, Paul McCartney, Foo Fighters, Kendrick Lemar and many, many more that have dominated the main stage in recent years. The festival’s fun and friendly atmosphere is in keeping with Austin’s laid back nature and ‘weird’ mentality. If you get peckish throughout the day make sure to check out the ACL Eats Food Court, where the infamous Austin food trucks are stationed. Experience some of the best mainstream acts from all over the world, among budding local artists, with a group of likeminded fellow travellers. Don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten about your leader, who will join you at the festival. The best thing about attending a festival in America? Having a bed to recover in at the end of each night! Music and comfort – an unbeatable combo in our eyes!
