Itinerary

Our routes have been carefully chosen to include the best overnight stops, highlights and included experiences, with plenty of optional activities to choose from. No two Trek trips are the same, with stops at some of your tour leader's favourite places and occasional changes to the itinerary, so get ready for one awesome adventure!

As this tour departs at 07:30 hrs we recommend that you book pre tour accommodation. Please request further details at time of booking.

2020 Itinerary

Start your tour at the birth-place of the most electrifying man in sports entertainment Dwayne ‘the Rock’ Johnson. We can’t think of a better, or more apt, way to start the tour than with a movie tour in the Ka’a’awa Valley that’s provided the backdrop to over 50 Hollywood movies. Unleash your inner geek, driving through Jurassic Park territory to Kualoa Ranch and hop on a vintage school bus to search for Godzilla’s footprints. Continue your drive up to the North Shore the ultimate surfer’s paradise.

Please note due to limited space in the vehicle you will be required to leave your main luggage at the hotel in Honolulu. You will need to bring an small overnight backpack or bag for your valuables.

Head back to Honolulu for free time in the heart of the capital. Stretch your legs on a hike up to Dimond Head, head to Waikiki’s infamous beach or visit Iolani Palace, the former residence of Queen Lili’uokalani and the last ruler of the Kingdom. Apart from great surf and excellent poke, Honolulu is also known for it’s military. The National Memorial site of Pearl Harbour can be found here.If you wish to visit this iconic WW2 site, you’ll need to book your tickets in advance. We reccommend the afternoon tour to fit in with the day's schedule.

Take a morning flight to Kona on the Big Island. You’ll make your way to Volcanoes National Park where you’ll spend the night in cabins located inside the park, surrounded by rainforest. Volcanoes NP is home to one of the most active volcanoes in the world, Kilauea. Experience smoking ground and old lava tubes, as you follow the Chain of Craters road, taking you from high ground to the sea floor, all the while exploring thick lava fields, ancient petroglyphs and the Halemaʻumaʻu Crater. On day four you will overnight in Hilo.

Drive to Kona for your next two nights. On route you’ll visit Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historic Park and learn about sacred laws and traditions that existed as part of Hawaii’s rich culture. Once you’re feeling suitably spooked of evil spirits, your next stop is the Punalu’u Black Sand Beach. Honu (Green Sea Turtles) are often spotted here under the palm trees. Once back in Kona, you will have the option to join a night Manta Ray snorkel experience, to get up close to these friendly rays. Day six is a free day, to enjoy some down time. If your brimming with energy, join a snorkelling zodiac tour of the Captain Cook Monument in the Kealakekua Bay. For something really special, take a memorable sunset and star gazing tour of Mauna Kea, a sacred place for the people of Hawaii. Mauna Kea is the highest volcano in the state and considered the largest mountain in the world, measured from its oceanic base.

Travel to your third Island in one-week, beautiful Maui. You will stay in the quintessential harbour town of Lahaina for the next three nights. Close to beautiful snorkelling spots and bustling Front Street. Why not get the gang together for a sunset cruise this evening to say Aloha to Maui? You might even spy some resident dolphins and in the right time of year, whales.

Today you will enjoy a full day driving tour on the Road to Hana. One of the most scenic drives in the world. Wind your way through rainforest, jagged coastal shorelines and fruit plantations. Stop off at secluded beaches, towering waterfalls and with a bit of luck, Maui’s biggest surf break ‘Jaws’. This is the best way to see the true spirit of Maui and it’s paradise landscape. Please be aware, the roads can get quite windy, but the endless views should help to ease any motion sickness.

Today is a free day to check out some of the great optional activities on offer, you might opt to join snorkelling tour of Molokini, and discover the mysterious underworld of an underwater crater. Or visit Haleakela National Park, you can see incredible views of the otherworldly crater from the top of the volcano at a dizzying elevation of 3,055m, known to Hawaiian people as “house of the sun” for good reason. We can’t think of a day crater spent! In the evening, sign off on this epic tour with at a traditional Luau for an evening of delicious food, entertainment and good times all around. There are many to choose from on the island.
