Trip Overview

Raise a glass to freedom! Visit the most vibrant cities belonging to America’s historic east coast, birthplace of revolution and America’s craft beer scene. In the last few years the USA’s craft beer scene has boomed, and it’s one of the easiest ways to get chatting with a local over a pint (or maybe a few more)! This is all about local, independent breweries where you can soak up the atmosphere swapping stories of your awesome day with your new TrekAmerica family. As well as great beers, we’ve included the absolute best of these cities to explore, and your leader has tried and tested all the best food joints for the inevitable carb cravings – a tough job, but someone had to do it. For the next eight days your social media feed will be on point with a seriously sweet combo of cities, sights and craft beer delights!

2020 Itinerary

Start your tour in Atlanta, Georgia’s electric state capital, and a place of significant civil rights movement history. You’ll head north into Appalachia, sandwiched between the Great Smoky Mountains and the Blue Ridge, the self-proclaimed ‘Land of the Sky. Here, the effortless bohemian vibe and panoramic mountain views of Asheville awaits. If that’s not exciting enough this mountain city is within the top three U.S. cities for breweries per capita, and good ones too! You’ll have time this evening to suss out the scene.

Next up is the nation’s capital. From the impressive Smithsonian Museums and the White House to trendy neighborhoods such as Georgetown, Adams Morgan and Dupont Circle, the capital has something for everyone. We recommend you try out a locally guided bike tour of Washington DC's monuments as a fun way to see the city and the famous sights like the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument. For a taste of history, a pilgrimage to Capital City Brewing Company is a must, for a Prohibition Porter among other fine tasting options. Food on your mind? There’s only one thing for it – Ben’s Chilli Bowl for awesome grub.

It’s the best way to see the best of New York over a short space of time, including historic landmarks and monuments, ground zero, Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge and all the foods, hot dogs, pretzels and bagels.
