USA Visa Information

Travellers from the EU and certain countries are eligible to travel to the USA under the Visa Waiver Program if they meet certain requirements and have an electronic passport.

Any person who is planning on travelling to the USA under the Visa Waiver Program MUST COMPLETE THE ONLINE PRE-REGISTRATION and receive approval via the US Embassy website's Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA) before travelling to the USA.

From September 8, the US will start charging European travellers $14 for electronic visa's (ESTA) to travel to the US. The ESTA lasts for two years, or until a person's passport expires.

The Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) is a new fully automated, electronic system for screening passengers before they begin travelling to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program. Voluntary ESTA applications may be submitted any time prior to travel to the United States, and Visa Waiver Program travellers are encouraged to apply for authorisation as soon as they begin to plan a trip to the United States.

Please note, as of June 1st, 2009, all US citizens will need a valid passport to cross US borders.
