TREKAMERICA GIVES YOU MORE
Take a moment to add up all the costs of doing it yourself, including public transportation, camping fees, accommodation, local attractions, national park entry fees or car-hire and fuel, and it soon becomes clear that a TrekAmerica tour offers incredible value for money.
By sharing travelling expenses, preparing group meals and choosing your own level of adventure with loads of optional activities on offer, you're able to tailor your tour to your own level of adventure and budget.
-
Included activities unique to each tour
There's always something happening on a TrekAmerica tour, and many of the must-do activities are included in the price. From overnight cowboy camps to canoeing in the Canadian wilderness, we offer more inclusions in the price than any other operator.
For example, our 7-day Western Wonder includes a super-stretch limo tour of the Las Vegas strip, our 14-day Westerner 2 includes a San Francisco sunset sailboat cruise and our 21-day Westerner 3 includes an overnight cowboy camp and horse riding. You simply won't find better value anywhere else.
-
All transportation in a private vehicle
Travelling by private vehicle offers exceptional flexibility and convenience and guarantees to get you further off the beaten path than you ever could with public transportation. A bus will get you from city to city, but travel with us and you'll leave the tourist trail far behind.
-
Services of an experienced TrekAmerica tour leader
Sure, it's possible to get around on your own, but the vast distances and limitless options available can be daunting. Our tour leaders know the best places to go, how to get there and what to do when you arrive, ensuring you make the most of every moment.
-
All camping equipment (excluding a sleeping bag)
Trek makes camping easy and provides all the necessary equipment including spacious tents, sleeping pads, cold food storage, gas lamps and portable field kitchens - all you need to bring is your sleeping bag.
-
All accommodation on our Budget Lodging Tours
If tents just aren't your thing, then our BLT's or Budget Lodging Tours offer the perfect alternative to some of our most popular camping itineraries, but with a comfy bed and a roof over your head at the end of an eventful day.
-
All National Park entrance fees
Most national parks in America charge an entrance fee of up to US$25 per park, and with so many national parks visited on our tours, this cost can soon add up. But don't worry, when you travel with TrekAmerica, you won't pay any national park entry fees.
Paid locally for added flexibility
-
En route hotels on our camping tours
Most en route hotels on our camping itineraries are paid locally, allowing us to maintain a more flexible schedule and budget. On our budget lodging tours, all en route accommodation is included in the price.
-
Our Food Kitty system
When camping, our passengers contribute US$10 a day to a food kitty, allowing us to purchase food as a group and prepare healthy and delicious meals at a fraction of the cost of eating out every night.
-
Optional Activities
In addition to the many included highlights and activities, there are also many more optional activities to choose from. This way each member of the group can choose exactly what they want to do according to their own taste and budget.
Important:
-
No forced single supplements
With most of our Trekkers Travelling independently, we pair single travellers with others of the same sex, ensuring single travellers aren't penalised with additional costs*.
