  • Day: 1-2 San Francisco & Yosemite

We start our journey across America's heartland at the Golden Gate in the Golden State. San Francisco is where the gold rush started and, where our adventure begins. After exploring the city, we head for the simply sensational Yosemite National Park for two nights. Walk beneath giant Sequoias and hike or bike through the extraordinary landscape of glacier-carved granite monoliths and spectacular waterfalls. Once inside Yosemite, keep your eyes peeled for black bears. Coyote roam freely as well and when the sun goes down, their howling often echoes amidst pines and sequoias. Admit it, Yosemite clicks the spirit of the great outdoors up a notch or two.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day: 3 Sierra Nevada

Cross Tioga Pass if conditions allow. This road has altitude, not to mention colossal views. Take a walk in the clear, fresh air then head south to Bishop and quench your thirst at a local drinking hole.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day: 4 Las Vegas

Get into the desert and head to Las Vegas. It's the self-declared entertainment capital of the world - The Strip, the shows, the casinos, the clubs; Sin City's glitziest and brashest spots are sure to impress. Cruise the Strip in a limo or hop onto one of the world's highest thrill rides at Vegas' Stratosphere. And if that's not enough, take a helicopter flight over The Strip or just gamble the night away in one of the world class casinos.
Accommodation: 1 night hotel paid locally

  • Day: 5-6 Grand Canyon National Park

No trip west is complete without a stop at the Grand Canyon and we have a full day to experience the grandeur of one of Earth's natural wonders. Pack your boots and don't forget your camera for a sunrise/sunset hike along the rim. For the more ambitious take the long hike down Bright Angel Trail to Plateau Point or choose the "bird's eye" view on a scenic flight. You are sure to be left with feelings of awe and amazement.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day: 7 Monument Valley

Take a breath and head to iconic Monument Valley, used in countless Hollywood scenes from Westerns to 2001: A Space Odyssey. Enjoy an optional native jeep tour into the valley with a Navajo Indian guide and experience a stunning sunset and sunrise.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day: 8-9 Arches National Park

Utah's Arches National Park has over 2000 natural sandstone arches and many other unusual rock formations. Catch a sunset behind Delicate Arch then go canyoneering or on a Hummer tour the next day for an exhilarating red rock adventure.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day: 10-11 Colorado Rockies

Two days to explore the mountains and trails of the Colorado Rockies. It's a climbing, hiking, pedalling adrenaline junkie's paradise.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day: 12 Denver

You can't get much higher than The Mile High City but with 80 beers brewed locally and a thriving club scene there's plenty of opportunity!
Accommodation: 1 night hotel paid locally

  • Day: 13 Lake McConaughy

The original Big Mac. Over 20 miles long and with 100 miles of shoreline it's equipped for any lakeside activity, so get kitted up and get out there.

Heading west over the prairies of Iowa we travel back in time to stop in one of the earliest German settlements in America, where an included feast provides a hearty last meal together -
    Prost!
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day: 16 Chicago

Our last day of adventure comes to a finale in sweet home Chicago! Home to the best deep dish pizza and the Miracle Mile, we'll say our farewells before exploring Chi-town's famous nightlife.
