    Accommodation: Hostel included

  • Day 6-7: Memphis

You'll be 'All shook up' as you call in at the home of the King himself, Graceland. In fact, Elvis' house is the second-most visited private home in the USA after the White House! In Memphis, Influences of country, blues and rock & roll music are everywhere so get stuck in! After all, as the legend says. "Blues sets the mood, Rock 'n' Roll adds rhythm, and the good times never end".

  • Day 8: Hot Springs, Arkansas

No prizes for guessing how Arkansas' Spa City got its name, relax and rest your tired bones in the hot springs.

  • Day 12: Carlsbad Caverns National Park

Do you know your stalactite from your stalagmite? Carlsbad Caverns boasts over 100 limestone caves sporting glinting minerals and telling names like the Hall of the White Giant and Green Lake Room. See the flight of the bats in the evening (did you know they always turn left out of a cave?) or check out the best darned drive-in movie theatre in America! Now that's Americana!

Stroll down Canyon Road where locals are peddling their wares and get ready to hit the town tonight.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day 15-16: Durango & Mesa Verde National Park

Crossing the Colorado border we hit Durango. The buildings on Main Street still resemble the old Wild West as steam trains puff into town and its rodeo time most evenings. Yee-hah! Check out some prime real estate at Mesa Verde National Park: the stone cut cliff dwellings of Ancestral Pueblans with a back yard of vast terrain; viewings are highly recommended.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day 17: Monument Valley

Venturing into the desert southwest, we hit the iconic Monument Valley, used in countless Hollywood scenes from Westerns to Forrest Gump! The only things to pre-date the origins of Native American culture are the towering buttes and mesas which dominate the awe-inspiring landscape. Explore some of the areas hidden treasures, learning of the local history and culture on an optional Navajo guided 4x4 tour. Tonight, experience a stunning sunset overlooking the valley.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day 18-19: Grand Canyon National Park

Humongous! Gigantic! No word quite captures the dramatic views that your scenic hike or optional helicopter flight delivers. Walk the rim trail and gaze across and into the vast canyon or follow snaking trails deep into the canyon itself for a whole new perspective. Mind-blowing.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day 20-21: Las Vegas

The ride continues down 'Historic Route 66' the longest remaining stretch of the original route to the town of Seligman, a step back in time to when the Route 66 was the main highway in America connecting East and West. Next up, 'Sin City' where extravagance is the name of the game. We've thrown in a limo tour of the city so you can feel like a movie star. Gamble in the glitzy casinos, see a Broadway show, hit the bars and clubs, see the Bellagio fountain erupt or enjoy some eclectic people-watching.

Tucked away in the Sierra Nevada and with 300-plus days of sunshine a year, Lake Tahoe is a scenic paradise. Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day 24-25: Yosemite National Park

Prepare to be wowed. Thundering waterfalls, huge granite cliffs shaped by the elements and towering sequoia trees are all perfect camera fodder within this vast wilderness. We have two days to hike, bike or float through this extraordinary landscape! From towering Sequoia trees and incredible vistas, to wildlife and the chance to see the elusive black bear and incredible walking trails which after all, is the best way to explore the park. Why not opt to go tubing down the Merced River for a very different view of Yosemite.
    Accommodation: Camping included

  • Day 26: San Francisco

Take a tour of Haight-Ashbury, which still retains some of the hippie charm from the 1960s before strolling across the famed Golden Gate Bridge. Make sure you add some extra nights to the end of your trip - you won't want to miss out on the charms of The City by the Bay.

This tour ends at approximately 17:00 hrs. We can book you post-tour accommodation at our gateway hotel if required. If you are planning to fly tonight, please do not book a flight that departs before 21:00 hrs.
