Day 1-2: Anchorage & Homer
Found at the head of Resurrection Bay on the Kenai Peninsula, Homer is renowned for its bear and whale viewing opportunities. Known by many as `the cosmic hamlet by the sea' this quirky ocean town is surrounded by beautiful wilderness. It's the perfect place for you to kick off your Alaskan adventure, so make sure you get involved with some of the fun local activities, such as sea fishing and kayaking in icy cold, glacier waters. If bear spotting is high on your list of things to do, then the chance for a full day bear viewing tour, is a must!
Accommodation: Cabins included
Day 3-4: Seward & Kenai Fjord National Park
The spectacular coastal town of Seward awaits your arrival and this is a town not to be missed. Known for its beautiful mountain and bay scenery, as well as its superb location to Kenai Fjords National Park. Seward offers both land-based and marine wildlife as well as a wonderful selection of tours, cruises and activities. Kenai is known as the land where mountains, ice and ocean meet, so why not head out on a cruise to Kenai Fjords to discover icy peaks and the opportunity to spot Orcas, porpoises and sea otter, and hear glaciers calve huge chunks of ice into the sea with an ear-splitting crack?
Accommodation: Hostels included
Day 5-6: Denali National Park
Tuck into the local delicacy of Reindeer sausage in Talkeetna before arriving in stunning Denali National Park. Now it's time to feel like a true wilderness explorer, as the rangers encourage you to break away from the beaten track and find your own route through this magical national park. With summer packing in hours of overtime, daylight is well and truly on your side this far north, so make the most of it. Try and spot the 'Big Five'; Caribou, wolves, Dall sheep, moose and Grizzly bear as you hike in the shadows of Mt. McKinley, North America's highest mountain.
Accommodation: Cabins included
Day 7: Tangle Lakes
Travel along the Denali Highway with incredible scenery en route to the Tangle Lakes. With such a great name it's no wonder this is an awesome place to chill out! Here lake-splattered green plains stretch to distant mountains and some wilderness canoeing should up your pulse rate. This remote area really is the perfect place to spend a night.
Accommodation: Lodge included (multi share)
Day 8-10: Wrangell-St. Elias National Park & Anchorage
You're definitely going to start feeling well and truly spoilt as the scenery just keeps on getting better. You and your fellow Trekkers take the scenic route along the Alaska Mountain Range all the way to Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. Here you'll find superb hiking trails, unpaved roads and some of the best views you've ever seen! It's safe to say the next two days are going to be awesome! As the Wrangell Mountains cast their lengthy shadow, ready yourself for some top-notch glacier action. How about a guided hike on the Kennecott Glacier, or for a more vertical challenge, grab an axe for a spot of ice-climbing on Root Glacier? Then before you know it, you'll leave the Alaskan wilderness behind you as it's time to head back to civilisation. But, don't be too sad, Anchorage is a city that has it all, heaps of local walking trails, shops aplenty and a great bar and restaurant scene, so we suggest staying a few extra days after the tour to explore.
Accommodation: Hostels x 2 included
