This probably happens to you from time to time – you hear a certain song and your mind rewinds right back to a specific moment of your life. Nothing screams “Roadtrip” more than the ultimate playlist. Even though we all come from different corners of the globe many of us end up rocking out to the same tunes. I can’t stress enough the importance of having the perfect soundtrack for your vacation. Before you leave on your next TrekAmerica trip I highly suggest spending some quality time putting together a compilation of your all-time favorite songs.
Our vans are equipped with killer sound systems and if every other tour leader is as nice as me they will let you be the resident DJ for a few stretches of the journey. Try to make a few different playlists and let your imagination run wild. Here are a few themes to inspire you: Country Road on a Sunny Day, Summertime Seaside, A night on the Town, Won’t let the Rain drag us Down.
So you get the idea – this is your time to shine! You can rock out from your iDevices and if you’re feeling old school you can even bring a few CDs along for the ride. Here are the top 10 most played songs from my last trip – Canadian Parks West – May 30th departure. Special thanks to an amazing crew of Trekkers / DJs, you guys rocked!
When I tell people what I do for a living they usually laugh out loud. “So you get paid to road trip with people?” I guess that is essentially what I do! My name is Drea, I was born in Québec City, Canada and I am a Trip Leader, a Blogger and a Travel Videographer.
Exploring the world has always been my #1 priority. My family knew early on that I was not going to stick around for very long. As a child I spent my entire days building highways out of books for my Lego cars to travel on. When my mom asked me what I wanted to become when I grew up I told her that I would travel to the West Coast. After she informed me that it was not an actual job I told her that I would find a way to make it one. Did I ever!
Being a Tour Leader for Trek America is a dream job. I have traveled through more than 35 countries in the off–season and I get to spend my entire summers surrounded by amazing people around Western Canada – one of the most beautiful places on earth.
